For hosts
How to manage your listing
This guide is for hosts who already have a listing. It covers where to find it, how to change each part of it, and how to take it down if you need to.
Finding your listing
- Sign in. Your dashboard lists everything you host under Your listings.
- Choose a listing to open the editor. The editor is split into sections down the side (or along the bottom on a phone): listing details, photos, pricing and capacity, where to go, where it’s listed, availability, site coordination, getting paid, and publish.
- Each section saves on its own. Make a change, press Save in that section, and you’ll see it confirm. Nothing changes on the public listing until the section is saved.
Changing what visitors see
- Listing details — the name, description, type and up to three categories. Categories decide which filters your listing appears under on the map, so keep them honest.
- Photos — add, reorder or remove. The first photo is the one visitors see on the card, so put your best one first. Drag to reorder, or use the arrow keys on a selected photo.
- Pricing & capacity — what it costs, per what (person, hour, day, ticket, or a flat rate), and how many people it takes. Places that are free to visit can stay at zero.
- Where to go — the map pin and address. Move the pin if visitors are being sent to the wrong spot, and pick the town or locality it belongs to. This also sets the listing’s web address, so it’s worth getting right early.
Availability and bookings
- Availability — the times or recurring schedule when it can be booked. If your listing isn’t bookable (a walk, a lookout, a shop people just visit), you can leave this empty.
- Getting paid — how bookings are paid for. Options include booking through your own website or booking system, sending an invoice yourself, or marking the listing as not bookable. If you send visitors to your own site, check the link still works after any website change on your side.
- Site coordination — practical notes for people arriving: access instructions, an on-site contact, anything a visitor should know before they turn up. Contact details entered here are only shown to you and the platform team, never to the public.
Where it’s listed
Your listing appears on your community’s map and list as soon as it’s published. Community sites (a town’s own website, for example) can also feature it on their pages. This is on by default. To stop community sites featuring your listing, open Publish and switch off Allow community sites to feature this listing. It disappears from those pages within a few seconds and comes back if you switch it on again.
Taking it down
- Unpublish — in Publish, choose Archive (unpublish). The listing leaves the map and its page stops being reachable. Your content is kept, and you can publish it again later.
- Republish — open the listing, fix anything the readiness check flags, and publish. The readiness check tells you exactly which sections still need something.
If your business is listed but you don’t manage it yet
Some listings are created by the community on a business’s behalf, so the business is findable before its owner has an account. If that’s you, the details, photos and links on the listing are maintained by the community’s editors for now. A way to claim a listing and take over managing it yourself is being built. Until then, ask your community’s site editors to make changes, and tell them the email address you’ll use so the listing can be handed to you when claiming is ready.
